Job Description - Oracle Database Administrator
Overview As an Oracle DBA, you'll work closely with a highly talented team of Oracle DBAs in the design, implementation, and support of enterprise standard databases based on business area requirements. You'll drive the definition and implementation of database High Availability, Monitoring, Backup/recovery and Security strategies along with leading projects. Install and support software and tools. You will be responsible for various database activities, which includes performance tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and consulting. Responsibilities- Translate a logical data model or user specifications into a physical design
- Ensure detailed physical design of data structures and database compiles with enterprise standards, guidelines, procedures, and processes
- Create physical database structures based on physical design for development, test, and production environments
- Coordinate with systems engineers to configure servers for DBMS product installation and database creation
- Implement monitoring procedures to maximize availability and performance of the database, while meeting defined SLA's
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database problems
- Lead in Identifying, defining and implementing database backup / recovery and security strategies
- Oversees and sets DBMS platform performance and availability improvements measures based on metric analysis
- Duties may include leading highly complex capacity planning, workload modeling, system maintenance/ administration, and diagnostics
- Working with the various application teams on supporting and implementing application changes, database enhancements, and database production support, including incident, problem and change management. This position will align with the portfolio application development teams to deliver best-in-class database to achieve business goals.
- BS (Preferably in Information Technology) and/or equivalent experience, education and/or training required

- 5-10 years applicable experience in the design/administration/ support of Oracle RDBMS (12C to 19 c)
- Experience with Oracle Exadata is a plus
- Solid understanding of RAC, ASM, OEM and Data Guard
- Good understanding of Unix and Linux operating systems
- Database performance tuning experience
- Knowledge of PL/SQL programming and SQL performance tuning
- Knowledge of database physical and logical design principals
