I. JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for accurately performing all computerized tomography

procedures and functions, as ordered/directed according to established

practices and procedures.

II. QUALIFICATIONSA. Education:

Satisfactory completion of formal radiology technology training in

an AMA approved school.

Current AHA/BLS CPR certification required.

B. Experience:

Minimum three years as a registered radiologic technologist

preferred.

Five years as a registered radiologic technologist and one to two

years' computerized tomography experience preferred.

C. Registry:

Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic

Technologists (ARRT) required.

D. Communication Skills:

Able to read, write and speak English.

III. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSMedium strength is required to position patients for examination or

treatment. May lift patients or assist attendance in lifting them on

and off x-ray table. Standing most of the time. Reaching for and

handling film, film holders, supportive devices, and machine controls.

Talking and hearing to give instructions to patient. Near-visual acuity

and depth perception to examine exposed film for pertinent details.

Works inside. Electrical radiant energy hazards are present. Wears

protective gloves and apron during certain procedures; must wear film

badge to detect any exposure.IV. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs the technical aspects of all computerized tomography exams.

Administers contrast media necessary for procedures.

Utilizes proper safety and radiation protection techniques.

Operates all computerized tomography equipment and performs all

technical calibrations and maintenance required by the equipment

manufacturer.

Assists in performing first aid and CPR as necessary.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures,

objective quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection

control.

Maintains departmental records, reports, and files as required.

Abides by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct.

Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns

appropriately.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
