Improve. for the array of regional, national and Fortune 100 customer businesses we serve. The Shippers Group is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our Finance Team. This position will require strong analytical and negotiation skills as well as having procurement, strategy and organizational administration skills. Responsibilities
Negotiate purchasing contracts and policies with respective suppliers.
Analyze and implement purchasing processes and delivery systems.
Inventory existing property and conduct audits.
Order supplies, inventory, equipment and services for all departments in the company.
Reconcile shipments, manifests, back-order items, review damaged items and work with supplied to correct any discrepancies.
Proven track record of controlling cost
Issue purchase orders, solicits bid proposals and reviews requisitions for accuracy.
Manage inventory of goods and material to maintain timely delivery to reduce cost of inventory storage.
Develop, identify and execute annual cost reduction targets for all suppliers.
Manage the expediting, receiving and flow of parts and supplies to required production departments.
Manage RFP/RFI processes, vet and select partners, establish payment terms, and negotiate contracts.
Required Experience:Qualifications
5+ yrs. Experience
Certification preferred: CPP, CPPM or CPDW
Experience in 3PL or Warehouse/Distribution
Strong contract negotiation experience
Understanding of distribution and supply chains
Strong business acumen, problem solving and analytical skills
Experiencing sourcing and procuring direct and indirect categories
Project management skills
Strong software, IT and general technology acumen.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong initiative and influence skills
