This is a position for a Data & Archive Engineer who will contribute to the engineering solutions for enterprise data archiving on Citis storage platforms or Cloud, including Big Data infrastructures. The candidate should have a strong background or educational knowledge with Databases, SQL, Unix, Scripting and Big Data Technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Engineer Citi Archiving as a Service platform on Big Data, Cloud or other strategic storage platforms to meet fast growing demands for archiving structured and unstructured data.
  • Engineer and integrate commercial archiving solution with Citi or Cloud platforms to comply with Citi security standards
  • Integrate Citi supported Big Data or other solutions with the archive platforms for data ingestion, data lifecycle management, and data query or search.
  • Actively engage with businesses sectors and operation team to provide engineering support and architecture design for application POC and use case deployments.
  • Work with cross domain teams to develop Citi standard platforms
  • Provide SME and Level-3 technical support for troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years overall IT experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Red Hat Linux, Unix Shell or Python Scripting, SQL, and databases (Oracle or MS SQL)
  • Experience or education knowledge with Hadoop ecosystem: HDFS, MapReduce, Spark, Sqoop, Hive, Flume, and SOLR
  • Experience with application development using scripting language or Java, and common JDBC / ODBC connectors
  • Experience with commercial archiving product like Solix or ETL tools is a plus
  • Good interpersonal with excellent communication skills - written and spoken English.
  • Able to interact with client projects in cross-functional teams.
  • Good team player interested in sharing knowledge and cross-training other team members and shows interest in learning new technologies and products.
  • Ability to create documents of high quality. Ability to work in a structured environment and follow procedures, processes and policies.
  • Self-starter who works with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets and geographies.
  • Exposure to Citigroup internal standards, policies and procedures is a plus (does not apply to external candidates).

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
