We are seeking a Land Acquisition Analyst to join the team. In this role, you will:
Perform a variety of activities in support of the acquisition and land department operations, which include: setting up and updating budgets, pro formas, and other due diligence requirements.
Prepare land books and corporate approval packages, ensuring compliance with standardized formats – particular focus on market analysis, competition and executive summary sections.
Responsible for gathering, compiling and analyzing information to complete the research and financial analysis of land under consideration for purchase to develop residential communities.
Responsible for compiling information into detailed accurate reports, including land trackers and unit forecasts.
Maintain and administers applicable mapping systems, such as Land Vision.
Utilize research tools such as Metrostudy and Zonda to assist in land and market evaluations. Prepare mailings to target prospective deals.
Assist VP and Manager of Land Acquisitions in daily land research responsibilities; visit competing communities’ sales centers to procure current pricing and pace, site plans, and other key indicators.
Assist the accounting and legal departments by performing seller/vendor setups and by preparing wire requests for deposits and land takedown and bulk closings.
Attend industry events to gain knowledge and network.
BA in Accounting or Finance
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Minimum of three (1-2+) years of relevant experience
Auditing experience a plus
Advanced computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Windows Office applications, high-level Excel user
Ability to generate spreadsheet models efficiently and scenario analysis
Hands-on experience with budgeting/forecasting software. SAP/Business Objects experience preferred
Strong written/oral and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate in a professional manner with all levels in the organization, with a customer service focus
Ability to write and communicate complex information and procedures in an easily comprehensible manner
Frequent interaction with other departments and divisions, as well as internal and external auditors
