What you’ll be doing As the Manager of Quality Management and member of the Product Performance team within Verizon’s Global Supply Chain, you will improve the customer experience by identifying product performance issues, and working with various internal stakeholders and external vendors on root cause analyses, ultimately leading to product and process improvements.Using a data-driven approach, you will support continuous improvement of new and existing product quality end-to-end from manufacturing through deployment, return, clean and screen / refurbishment, and redeployment.You will create and utilize datasets from various sources to understand the reasons for customer calls, technician dispatches, equipment returns, and test results from third party logistics and testing vendors as well as the original equipment manufacturers.This includes any data infrastructure and ETL work necessary for joining disparate data sets to enable the analyses. Your product scope will include Fios CPE (set top boxes, optical network terminals, home routers, network extenders, remote controls, etc.) and network equipment (remote radio heads, base band units, antennas, cell site routers, and PICs).

Develop and monitor key metrics to assess the quality of products supplies inspection and testing systems.

Detail investigations and analysis on Repair Returns, No Trouble Found (NTF) returns, and Bounce drivers.

Compile statistical data and write narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings.

Review data on product defects, product response plans and product dispositions; recommends and implements improvements.

Utilize quality feedback data from customers and consumers to drive continual improvement activities needed to achieve department strategic goals.

Translate product quality issues into analytical problems, partner with and effectively communicate business implications and results to key stakeholders

Develop or approve recommendations to change systems policies and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation.

Work in conjunction with the appropriate disciplines to develop robust corrective actions for all customer level complaints as well as internal audit findings.

Promote supply base activities that target the reduction of complaints and focus on long range systemic improvements.

Be a technical liaison to IT teams for data infrastructure and requirements.

Responsible for the overall Cost of Quality including prevention, appraisal, internal and external costs.

Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and juggling multiple activities and changing priorities comes easily to you. You have experience in data analytics and a strong working knowledge of statistical concepts, as well as a thorough understanding of Fios, Radio Access Network, and Core network equipment, service offerings, provisioning systems and processes, wireless and wireline network architecture, technical support, and field technician policies and procedures.You’ll need to have:

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of experience.

Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Experience managing engineering projects or quality improvement projects.

Experience related to the manufacturing and use of telecommunications or related devices.

Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

Understanding of Supply Chain best practices; understanding common needs and challenges of the business.

Knowledge of Verizon’s Fios Provisioning and Maintenance Systems and Processes.

Understanding of wireless and wireline network architecture.

Six-Sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Oracle OBIEE, Tableau, Minitab, JMP, SQL.

Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles.

Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, detail oriented and decision-making skills.

Excellent PowerPoint skills with the capability to distill complicated messaging into clear, simple, single-page slides with clear visualizations.

Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams, influencing and negotiating to solve difficult and complex problems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
