Wells Fargo Technology plays a critical role in the company’s customer and employee experience, business and risk management transformation, and growth agenda.As a member of the Enterprise Middleware Messaging/Integration Team, the Infrastructure Engineer will provide technical leadership, consultation and support for middleware messaging and integration technologies such as Kafka Event Streaming, IBM WebSphere MQ, IBM Integration Bus (IIB) and Solace messaging in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Performs complex analysis of messaging / integration requirements and associated hardware requirements to determine solutions and customizations. Designs middleware messaging and integration solutions.

Provides the strategy and design to build utilities and automation for middleware messaging / integration tasks required for Tech Refresh projects, BCP, installations, configurations, upgrades and testing.

Installs, configures, deploys and troubleshoots issues on middleware messaging for applications in a complex, multi-platform environment (z/OS, Linux, Windows); leads, interacts and consults with development teams on technical projects and issues.

Develops new documentation, leads and participates in the development of departmental technical procedures and designs user support guides and runbooks. Consults with management and recommend process and procedure improvements.

Provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems.

Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area; as well as contributing to updating and testing the business continuity plan

1 week on-call rotation (approximately every 8 weeks) in a 24x7 environment

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of systems analysis experience

5+ years of systems programming experience

2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: Agile, Kanban, or Lean methodology

3+ years of experience working with middleware vendor messaging technologies

Desired Qualifications:

Expert knowledge and understanding of technologies related to infrastructure engineering

Ability to identify, report, and solution problems in new and existing software in a team environment

Ability to identify and correct system capacity issues

Ability to help remediate tough technical support issues

In-depth technical solution knowledge, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and problem solving

3+ years of Kafka Platform experience, Confluent Platform experience, or a combination of both

5+ years of MQ Series Messaging experience

Experience developing, supporting or integrating messaging technology such as Solace, Tibco or MQ

Knowledge and understanding of Linux

z/OS experience

Production support experience in a financial services company

Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled

Ability to work on call as assigned

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
