Do it here.What you’ll be doingAs a part of the VZ Platform Engineering Team for the Artificial Intelligence and Data organization, you will be responsible for architecture, design, implementation, support & Administration of GCP infrastructure. You will support, implement, and maintain GCP infrastructure in Verizon and will be responsible for running GCP cluster(s). You will provide thought leadership in the cloud platform area.This position is part of our Artificial and Intelligence (AI&D) organization which focuses on delivering the power of data and AI to drive our marketplace leadership through innovative solutions that create value for our customers, shareholders, V teamers and society, responsibly.Architect, design, implementation, support & Administration of Dataproc infrastructure initiatives.
Lead GCP Dataproc based This job includes managing Linux users, setting up Kerberos principles, and managing HDFS, Hive, Pig, Spark, and MapReduce access for the new users.
Manage LDW eco-system (Ranger, Nifi, Kafka, Atlas, Hive, Storm, pig, spark, Elastic Search, Splunk, Solr, Kyvos, Hbase, etc., and other cloud data tools).
Architect, Design and Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines). Knowledge of Ansible, Jenkins, Jira, Artifactory, Git, etc. Function as SME both within Verizon and externally within industry.
Serve as technical lead and advisor to Verizon India Team.
Serve as trusted advisor for the business and IT groups.
What we’re looking forYou’ll need to have:Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
Experience in creating and managing production scale Kubernetes clusters, knowledge of Kubernetes networking.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:A degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Expert in implementing and troubleshooting Hive, Spark, Pig, Storm, Kafka, Nifi, Atlas, Kyvos, Elastic Search, Solr, Splunk, HBase applications.
General operational expertise such as good troubleshooting skills, understanding of systems.
Ability to deploy Kubernetes cluster and perform application deployments on Kubernetes cluster, monitor critical parts of the cluster, configure high availability, schedule and configure it and take backups.
Experience with open source configuration management and deployment tools such as Puppet or Chef and Linux scripting.
Expert in Hadoop administration with knowledge of Hortonworks/Cloudera or Map Bigdata management tools.
