The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.As the largest mortgage originator and servicer in the country, understanding the value of real estate, both commercial and residential, is critical. Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS) serves as an independent risk management function within Corporate Credit that:

Interprets appraisal regulation and sets Corporate Valuation Policy

Communicates with regulators on pending and proposed regulations

Assumes responsibility for ensuring that compliant valuation processes and practices are in place for all valuations across Wells Fargo

Leads the industry in real estate valuation processes and execution

REVS is looking to fill four (4) Valuation Manager 3 opportunities within the Western territory. These positions will consist of the following:

Between the San Francisco, CA (and surrounding metro area) and San Jose, CA we will specifically look for 1 Residential Manager.

In the Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego CA (and surrounding metro area) we will specifically look for 1 Commercial Manager.

Between the Denver, CO (and surrounding metro area), Houston (and surrounding metro area), Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Irving TX we will specifically look for 1 Commercial Manager and 1 Residential Manager.

The primary purpose of these positions is to manage residential and/or commercial appraisers who provide real estate valuations for property which the bank uses as collateral for a variety of lending related activities. These leadership positions exists to ensure the appraisers provide accurate valuations which are compliant, and meet established service level expectations. The managers will effectively partner and influence executive leadership, while also ensuring the business runs efficiently, supports the customer needs and always remains in compliance. Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Meeting management’s defined risk objectives

Responsibility for staff management and workflow, as well as staff leadership and development

Coordinating residential and commercial valuation and market expertise with peers and senior management

Supporting cross disciplinary development in residential and commercial space

Personal production

Addressing audit findings, and working with internal and external REVS and LOB groups to effectively deal with escalated valuation issues

As a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will:

Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.

Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications:

6+ years of management experience

Certified Appraiser

10+ years of valuation experience

Desired Qualifications:

Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills

Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
