Overview

The Marketing Applications Analyst ensures projects and applications are consistent with strategic digital business requirements and supports initiatives designed to provide superior customer experiences. Working with developers, analysts and project managers, this team member is responsible for creating and executing user acceptance test plans that systematically test application functionality, as part of the development /test cycle, and in preparation for the implementation phase of each initiative.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Based on business requirements and process flows, create and maintain documentation of UAT Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Scripts, and Test Results
  • Coordinate with the project team to prepare test data and test environments to execute test scripts
  • Perform UAT activities to support the successful release of strategic Marketing initiatives
  • Coordinate testing efforts with internal business segments and provide training support with internal clients to ensure successful production releases
  • Partner with project team and provide recommendations that improve the user experience to support Marketing project initiatives
  • Work with project teams to communicate and escalate any defects identified throughout the project life cycle, evaluating any issues and their impacts to the project implementation
  • Remain current on changes within the finance, regulatory, economic, competitive and technological environments that may impact initiatives
  • Promote a cooperative and productive work environment and build effective working relationships with internal and external partners to promote strategic priorities
  • Attends project meetings, providing status updates to the project manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions and systems, with experience in several functional areas
  • Knowledge of standard User Acceptance Testing strategies
  • Knowledge of standard Project Management, and Quality Assurance methodology and practices
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and defect resolution processes
  • Knowledge and experience with agile methodology

Skills

  • Test preparation and execution experience, preferably within business applications and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively prepare and present information and respond to questions
  • Excellent prioritization, time management, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to evaluate and innovate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships at all organization levels
  • Ability to establish plans and develop systems and processes
  • Ability to work and think independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to translate quantities of information into objective-based deliverables
  • Experience with AtTask/Workfront, MS Project, SharePoint or other project management software/tools
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server a plus

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in business operations or project management required

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment subject to stressful situations
  • Flexible schedule with possibility of working long hours including weekends/holidays, occasional overtime or split shifts may be required
  • Limited travel may be required to support business needs
  • Strong focus on providing quality service to internal and external customers
