Video QA for Long Term Contract.in Irving, TX.Role: Video Test Engineer & Ad Insertion Client: Verizon (Direct Client, no layers) Long Term Contract Location: Irving TX (Onsite role due to Lab Work etc. 5 days a week) C2C through an employer is acceptable. Looking for a Video Test Engineer with good testing skills for quality assurance of our video solutions for a world class customer experience. With his / her deep understanding of video applications and related features, he / she shall be able to help deliver great quality products and services to our customers. Must have test and integration experience, not looking for a static tester. Should know what he/she is testing and why, and in addition to testing he/she shall analyze why something doesn’t work. Specific tasks of this role include:- Smoke testing of weekly releases
- Regression testing for all features
- Test Automation - Development & execution of Test Automation scripts
- Reporting and Tracking bugs to closure.
- Some video domain exp. is must. Like video streaming.
- App testing on android.
- 4000+ test cases
- 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance of video-centric applications.
- Bachelor's in Engineering - Computer Science, Information technology, or a similar degree.
- STB Domain Knowledge - Clear understanding of end-to-end solution - back office to the headend to the set-top box.
- Fair knowledge on various Audio & Video file formats, Encoding & Decoding, Encryption, Multiplexing, Digital transmission, Multicast & Unicast.
- End to End solution of client-side ad insertion and server-side ad insertion.
- Experience in testing ad campaign management applications.
- Experience working with testing various ad sales models and platforms supporting video and banner ads advertising.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in testing ad delivery reports and industry standards.
- Hands-on experience with STB applications UI and features like Guide, VOD, DVR, MRDVR, Parental Controls and other user settings.
- Well-versed with Testing Techniques and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in writing & prioritizing Test cases, Executing and Bug Reporting.
- Should have experience in writing automated scripts using Python.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Shall be knowledgeable in using Linux and Shell Scripting
- Good analytical skills
- Expertise in testing tools like Appium, Selenium
- Prior experience in Testing Android / iOS-based devices
- Knowledge of Databases like SQL, Snowflake, etc., and able to write queries in SQL and jQuery.
- Exposure to Reporting tools like Splunk or any equivalent.
- Experience with automation framework design and development
- Prior experience in writing automated tests using Javascript, Ruby, or any other equivalent.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as SoapUI, and Postman.
- Knowledge of using GIT and Jenkins.
- Experience in Agile methodologies
