    Sr. Manager , Enterprise Data

    Overview :

    Our mission is to provide our customers convenient, immediate consumption products and services when, where and how they want. Data Analytics capabilities form a significant part of our digital strategy with an emphasis on a data driven culture thriving on timely actionable insights . This role will report to the Sr Director , Enterprise Data & Governance . The role is responsible for partnering with 7-Eleven leadership and various cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and develop solutions in shaping 7-Eleven's Data Engineering and practices.

    The Sr. Manager will be responsible for supporting the strategy, execution, and development of the 7-Eleven Enterprise Data Platform that helps operationalize data driven solutions through Data Governance, Advanced analytics, Data Warehousing & the Data Lake. We are looking for a leader to grow a talented team of data professionals and continue to deliver successes on best of breed platform . The leader should embrace inclusive leadership behaviors, is comfortable with ambiguity, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Champion , socialize , and support the 7-Eleven E nterprise Data strategy and architecture, which drives the foundation of platform, tools and solutions delivered
    • Develop /Enhance a short and long-term operational plan to implement both "quick wins" as well as a continuous and sustained process for an increasing digital workforce.
    • I mprove the way we develop data solutions at scale, and partner with stakeholders to deliver on enterprise outcomes while applying your depth of knowledge and expertise to build and coach your teams daily.
    • C ontribute to evolving use of data and decision intelligence led solutions for solving problems, and scale the impact of data through development of scalable, cloud native services.
    • Lead matrixed team spanning all elements of the platform: Platform Strategy, Platform Innovation/Roadmap, Platform Engineering, Platform Architecture and Platform Administration and Operations .
    • Define, own and provide governance for D ata (internal and external) in partnership with the compliance and security organizations.
    • Lead the migration of key on-premise applications to the cloud in support of cloud strategy.
    • Partner with finance and vendor management to define/implement creative, flexible staffing strategy models to drive greater cost efficiency and productivity.
    • Serve as a platform and architecture expert and go-to leader for all things Data and Analytics architecture and platform.
    Th is role will include collaborating with departmental heads and their delegates to build end-to-end solutions solving retail challenges with a "data-first" approach. This passionate, strategic leader must bring technical depth spanning data engineering and Governance, organizational savvy to build and lead global teams, strong executive presence to drive platform adoption, technical thought leadership to be ahead of business demand and sincere collaboration mindset to build partnerships internally and externally .

    • Experience with design, configuration, migration, and deployment experience related to modern Data Warehouse and cloud Data Lake technologies
    • Solid e xperience operating complex data initiatives, spanning multiple data sources, complex application environments and a strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling and data engineering
    • Advanced knowledge of business reporting and analytics fundamentals and best practices
    • Proven experience ensuring roadmap execution goals are achieved and able to balance both the short- and long-term strategy
    • Excellent leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment and ability to both influence and develop strong partnerships at all levels.
    • Strong communicator who knows how to translate analysis into business insights, and communicate objectives, plans, status and results clearly.
    • Solutions-oriented, with a track record of identifying and implementing creative solutions.
    • Excellent communication skills, including business writing and presentations.
    • Experience working in an agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, etc.)
    • Strong problem solving, synthesizing, and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated superior business process, project management and organizational redesign experience.
    • Experience in managing a cross-discipline team and working in a highly matrix environment across many different businesses and IT leadership in an environment of competing interests.

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor's degree. MBA/Post Graduate degree is a plus.
    • 8 + years of experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in enterprise improvement role s preferably in the areas of data engineering & analytics including 5+ years in a cloud first environment (Azure/Google Cloud Platform preferred)
    • Experience with flavors of databases including SQL, NoSQL , Data virtualization and Big Data Cloud DBs specifically in non-cloud native solutions like Apache Pinot, Presto, Mongo, Dremio,
    • A strong understanding with CI/CD tools and experience Automating Environment builds to support DevSecOps
    • Solid fundamental knowledge of supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning machine learning algorithms such as classifiers, Bayesian Statistics, dimension reduction, regression, CNN, RNN, collaborative filtering, self-attention, transformers, etc.
    • Experience with model interpretability techniques and presentation skills
    • Experience in Visualization technologies as Power-BI, Apache superset, Stream-lit
    • Knowledge of programming languages including Python, SQL, and Spark
    • Retail experience required along with specialization in "Customer Data"
    • Expert level facilitation and executive communication (written and verbal) skills required.
    Strong fluency in Microsoft PowerPoint
