    Senior Manager I Software Engineering

    Overview

    7-Eleven's Store technology team is looking for an experienced Software Engineering manager who enjoys collaborating with a team of engineers, designers, and product visionaries in transforming our legacy retail platform into a cloud-based platform and innovate on latest technology, create awesome products that thousands and millions of people experience every day.

    About the role

    • Lead a team of engineers to deliver highly scalable cloud native solutions .
    • Mentor engineering team members on technical decision making, code reviews and enforcing engineering practices and standards.
    • Identifying short- and long-term solutions and timeline; reviewing and providing feedback for proposed solutions; and performing design and code reviews of changes.
    • Actively engages in product and business discussions with a technical eye for feasibility and adherence/defining overall roadmaps and architectural strategy.
    • Focus on improving current software development practices and standards.
    • Research new technologies to support 7-Eleven's digital transformation vision.
    • Fully familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and development practices.

    Qualifications

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering.
    • 10 -12 years of experience in software engineering .
    • Technical Breadth with multiple Disciplines: Software engineering, Integration, Cloud , Enterprise architecture, Microservices and Event driven architecture .
    • SAFe Agile experience: from design through development, testing, implementation, production, and support.
    • Hands-on Development skills and usage of Key Technologies - Strong on Java , NodeJS, React , NoSQL , MongoDB . REST-based web applications development; Spring Framework; API's, JSON; JUNIT; JavaScript; DevOps CI&CD
    • Strong Experience in AWS Cloud platform and its features which includes containerization, EC2, Fargate, SNS, SQS, API Gateway, Lambdas, Auto Scaling, S3, and Kinesis.
    • Experience building systems to handle large volume of transactions at scale
    • Should be self-driven, proactive , should act with urgency.
    • Ability to communicate complex technical information to all stakeholders of the project, including those who do not have a technical background and possess exceptional troubleshooting skills to assess quickly complex programming applications.
    • Stays on the leading edge of software development tools and best practices.
    • Experience working in Retail platform is a plus .
