This is a position responsible for ensuring that Information Technology system changes meet quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, design and execute testing of a variety of business software applications and enterprise and complex billing systems

Plan and lead the testing effort within multiple small projects or a single larger project and provide technical guidance relating to product quality on complex projects.

Create test plans, data, procedures and manual and/or automated scripts

Participate in formal reviews of business requirements and application designs.

Ensure proper test coverage exists based on requirements and design specifications.

Recommend strategies and methods to improve test plans and process.

Write and reproduce accurate software problem reports.

Define and implement quality process improvements focused on defect prevention.

Create systems and business relevant test cases.

Create test data for projects.

Ensure test environments reflect business requirements for test execution.

Assist in development of in-house test tools and procedures.

Review and report test results.

Identify test issues on assigned projects.

Define regression tests for future projects.

Define and coordinate production verification and validation.

Analyze and report overall test status and results.

Execute manual and/or automated test scripts for assigned projects.

Perform testing for assigned projects & retests as necessary.

Establishes testing entrance and exit criteria.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Coordinate test schedules, work and resource plans; manages progress of all test activities against plan.

Identifies and manages critical path of testing.

Ensure execution of project regression testing tasks

Maintain the status of project tasks and other direct assignments.

Provide technical testing evaluation estimates on various projects.

Maintain user/external group and vendor relationships

Maintain the security of confidential information

Stay abreast of advances in technology

Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities: May provide technical direction to othersKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data, configuration, or processing information

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service

Knowledge of software testing

Knowledge of the software process including analysis, design, coding, system integration and user acceptance testing, problem resolution and planning

Knowledge of moderate applications development and/or system administration knowledge and demonstrated expertise in at least

Skilled in time management

Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities

Ability to work on moderately complex assignments or multiple phases of a project.

Ability to execute automated and/or manual functional or nonfunctional tests and report results.

Ability to use test automation frameworks and tools to automate manual tests.

Ability to integrate automated tests into test suites.

Ability to lead manual and/or automated test projects using test frameworks and tools

Ability to assist in developing QA policies and procedures.

Ability to establish project plans for small projects.

Ability to multi-task

Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision

Ability to monitor test activities of team members

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing

Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems

Minimum Qualifications – (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensure):

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Directly related experience may substitute for education

Prior electric utility experience preferred.

Experience in technical communications, programming, network environments, operating systems or databases

Five years of directly related work experience

ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst Certification preferred

Valid Driver’s License
