Job Description:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Online Retailing Information Systems or relevant field of study required
Work Experiences:
  • 10+ years of experience in a retail eCommerce
  • eCommerce strategy and planning experience
  • Knowledge of eCommerce systems integration
  • Knowledge of eCommerce marketing methodologies
Skills:
  • Experience effectively delivering successful Omni-Channel merchandising strategies
  • Leadership experience with in an Omni-Channel retailer managing a team highly focused on results.
  • Proven history of managing sales and profitability targets as well as a solid understanding how those levers impact the P&L
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals and groups at various levels, both internal and external
  • Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to operate professionally, effectively and ethically as an individual contributor and member of a team
  • Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to recognize and adapt to company culture
  • Ability to analyze, organize and integrate large amounts of complex information into clear, concise presentations and plans
  • Experience with E-Commerce software that enables online merchandising capabilities
  • Lead by example and models a passion for the business as well as demonstrates a proactive and solution-oriented style.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Merchandising Leadership Team to create effective and innovative online merchandising strategies to drive total category sales and profitability.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure a successful Omni-Channel customer experience focus for Academy
  • Oversee the Academy.com P&L making sound financial decisions to drive sales and gross margin targets to ensure increased profitability
  • Optimize the performance of Academy.com through all applicable site metrics to deliver improvements to conversion
  • Ownership of Academy.com search, navigation, taxonomy and product content display (via PIM).
  • Deliver optimal eCommerce customer experience, leveraging site merchandising, drop ship and content capabilities
  • Provide ongoing tracking and analysis of key metrics, working closely cross-functionally to optimize business
  • Manage a team of people leaders ensuring departmental strategic objectives are delivered on time and within budget
  • Partner closely with merchandising, IT, store ops, marketing, vendors and other key functions to drive Academy and Academy.com business
  • Consistent focus on the customer to deliver merchandising programs that drive value for both our customers and Academy.
  • Manage and develop a team of online merchants and site content editors
  • Partner with Academy.com digital product management team to execute merchandising capabilities on Academy.com
  • Manage relationship with outside vendors and work with vendors to achieve the company's goals
  • Consistent focus on customer/user experience and supporting Academy brand equity
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and technology developments
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy's policies, procedures and safety rules
  • Duties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned
