Job Description:

The Training Center of Central Texas is a career and technical training school which provides training for careers in healthcare and the construction trades. Our Construction Electrician Program is a 6 month, comprehensive course which covers NEC and electrical theory fundamentals, construction practices, safety, job site conditions, grounding, bonding, complex switching and controls, motors, transformers, and construction management. The Master Electrician Lead Instructor will be instrumental in the management, operation, and execution of the program; managing electrical program staff and faculty towards this end.

Minimum Qualifications:

Hold current Master or Journeymen Electrician License issued by a state or nationally recognized accrediting agency. Must maintain valid license to remain qualified for the position.

Experience in management / leadership positions or instructional roles.

Completed a 4 year apprentest program.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution plus 3 years full-time work experience within the last 8 years in the electrical field, or an Associate Degree from an accredited institution plus 5 years full-time work experience within the last 8 years in the electrical field, or a High School Diploma with 10 years full-time work experience in the electrical field.

Skill Requirements:

Position requires proficiency in use of computers and computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, as well as ability to quickly familiarize self with proprietary software and cloud-based solutions utilized by the school.

Proficient in use of tools and technology utilized by electricians in the field

Skilled in organization, documentation, and communication.

Ability to successfully engage students in lectures, hands on labs, and evaluate their performance and understanding of the lessons and exercises.

Ability to effectively and professionally represent the school when communicating with students, parents, peers, administrators, and industry partners.

Job Duties:

Lead class lectures utilizing teaching aids, demonstrations, PowerPoint slides, white board, and other tools/methods as required.

Maintain records of attendance, grades, and student achievement throughout the course.

Maintain and develop relationships with outlets for student internships and apprenticeships.

Interface with professional advisement committee specializing in the electrical industry to maintain curriculum’s relevance and accuracy regarding industry trends.

Foster a culture of learning that is both professional and simulates workplace environment where possible.

Maintain and update daily lesson plans that cover the required topics for each section in a logical and comprehensive manner.

Manage and direct lab instructors, and assistants for all electrical labs and classes.

Assist in the procurement of all necessary lab equipment and materials for all course labs

Perform other related duties as assigned to facilitate the successful running of the school.

Assemble, manage, and store all physical and digital reports, records, grades, and required documents.

Attend coordination, faculty, and department meetings as required.

Assist in the development of lab improvements based on observations of outcomes regarding learning objectives and student engagement.

Assist in the selection of equipment, supplies, and instructional materials.

Assist the Lead Electrical Instructor.
