The ideal candidate should be focused on quality, and be able to effectively collaborate with referring physicians, agencies and other professionals to provide optimum patient care within our award-winning integrated health care system.About Advent Health Central TexasAdvent Health Central Texas is a 230-bed acute-care hospital with a Level IV Trauma designation. Located in Killeen, the medical center offers a wide range of clinical and surgical services that include an emergency department open 24/7, cardiovascular care, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, and other services, and plays a central role in community wellness.Through various contracts with Advent Health, Baylor Scott & White Health provides hospitalist, anesthesiologist, physician, nurse practitioner, and CRNA support to name a few, to help with their staffing needs. In addition, five Baylor Scott & White Health clinics including three care clinics, a specialty clinic, and McLane Children’s Scott & White Clinic – Killeen provide physician services to patients in the Killeen community.About the CommunityKilleen–Temple is a metropolitan area in the Central Texas region of Bell County. Killeen is ranked in the top 100 as one of the Best Places to Live and Best Places to Retire by the U.S. News & World Report.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLEAssesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.Prescribes, recommends and/or employs medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures or performs indicated procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policies with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost. Recommends interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.Formulates and implements comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines and in collaboration with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate. Evaluates patient’s response to health care provided and the effectiveness of care.Counsels patients and families regarding medical processes, management of the health illness/condition, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. Counsels patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over the counter medications and herbal remedies.Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes.
