The Director, in consultation with the Vice President for Enrollment Management, provides leadership for identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new students to Texas A&M – Kingsville. The Director provides oversight of business activities, strategic planning and development, and program administration. The Director also functions as departmental liaison to customers and represents the University campus wide and in the community.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In consultation with Strategic Enrollment Planning, directs a comprehensive, integrated, and data-driven recruitment, admissions, and enrollment plan to recruit and retain freshman and transfer students.

Supervises staff in representing the University at high schools and Community College events for designated territories, as well as during their guiding of prospective students through the admissions and enrollment processes (onboarding).

Determines in-state or out-of-state residence for tuition purposes and participates in the awarding of freshmen and transfer student scholarships.

Facilitates the organization and implementation of recruitment and admissions strategies to meet enrollment goals and oversees the admissions process for freshman, transfer and graduate students.

Supervises the evaluation of academic transcripts from high schools, Community Colleges, and Universities. Oversees transfer course designation for the Texas Common Core Curriculum and management of the course database equivalency tables.

Oversees the coordination of on-campus events to recruit prospective students.

Recruits and advises prospective students about admissions criteria into special programs of study. Develops and coordinates the planning of events related to the special programs and summer events

Oversees the development and updating of guided pathways for transfer students.

Provides leadership for departmental functions to include planning, directing, and evaluating departmental operations.

Directly supervises and maintains responsibility for multiple units within the department, including directing the efforts of and supervising management and other staff.

Provides effective budget management and oversees fiscal operations of departments by establishing cost controls.

Serves as an advisor/consultant to the University community regarding matters relating to Admissions.

Leads the development and oversight of communications, promotions, and public relations for departments.

Develops, directs, and evaluates process compliance and internal controls.

Recommends new departmental and University-wide policies or revisions to existing policies.

Stays abreast of developments in the field.

Participates in training and professional development sessions.

Experience – Six years of related experience in management.Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
