Job Number: 599 Riverside Research is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support AFLCMC/HN at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide software engineering support for the USAF's Cyber Mission Platform (CMP). CMP is described as the common framework for future Air Force cyber operations and will complement existing Air Force cyber weapon systems. CMP will provide a common user interface and the services necessary to facilitate the planning, generating, execution, assessing, commanding, and controlling of Air Force full spectrum cyberspace operations. The CMP Program will incorporate an agile environment. All positions at Riverside Research require US citizenship. Job Responsibilities:- Perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of software engineering to include but not be limited to reviewing, preparing, and analyzing all types of documentation, planning, requirements, design, V&V, support, and testto include source code, configuration files, and engineering resolution support.
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
- Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures
- Obtain and license software by obtaining required information from vendors, recommending purchases, testing, and approving products
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
- Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development life cycle
- Plan and or implement agile acquisition/SW development techniques
- Plan and or implement DevOps processes and techniques for Cloud and non-cloud applications
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
- Previous software engineering experience
- 3 years of experience in the DoD
- Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
- Master's Degree
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience working in a government program office
- Experience with architecture tools (e.g. SPARX) and UML / UPDM modeling.
- Experience with analyzing modern code structures and semantics. (e.g. Java, Python, C)
- Solid understanding of modern software systems to include legacy systems migration, design functionality, performance measurement, and mission support requirements development
- Working experience with design or functional requirements with software management systems. (e.g. Jenkins, JIRA or GIT)
- Experience supporting DoD Cyber acquisition programs highly preferred
- Experience working with Trusted Systems and Networks assessment, Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (AF SEAM), Security Information Event Management (SIEM), and/or System Engineering Plan (SEP).
- Knowledge of Joint Cyber Operations and Cyber Weapon Systems is a plus
