Work Hours/Shift:PRN - $14.07/hr. plus differentialsYou Will Be Responsible For:· Provides general nursing care such as bathing, positioning patients, lifting, turning and ambulating patients.· Takes and records temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height, blood pressure and intake-output measurements.· Answers patient call lights and makes rounds to assigned patients.· Serves and removes food trays. Distributes drinking water and other nourishment to patients that are not NPO. Collects and transports specimens to the correct departments.· Transports patients to and from various departments as requested.· Provides care which may include bed bath, oral hygiene, combing hair, shaving males, back care, dressing patients, changing bed linens, cleaning overbed table and bedside stand, straightening the room and other general care as necessary throughout the day.· Performs routine treatment procedures including enemas, applications of appliances for heat and cold and sitz baths.· Assists in preparation of units, patient rooms and beds for receiving patient admissions, returning surgical patients, transfers, emergencies or discharges.· Assists the RN and/or LVN in minor procedures.QualificationsWhat You Will Need:· High School education or its equivalent required. Must be currently enrolled in nursing education program AND level or higher and have completed the first two semesters of clinical/theory courses with passing grades.· Must have evaluation form completed by clinical instructor indicating level of competency for basic patient care.· Basic knowledge of computer use.· Completes required continuing education.· This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.Job Summary:This position is responsible, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse for performance of selected nurse’s tasks and patient activities.
