A/V Systems Support Technician

A/V Systems Support Technician Contract to Hire Plano, TX SUMMARY: Provides support for audio visual (AV) systems and services in our corporate headquarters. As a member of the Systems Administration team, this position will lead efforts related to the design, implementation, support, and operation of our AV systems. This position is responsible for ensuring that our AV systems are reliable, secure, and functioning as designed. This position Reports to the Manager, Systems Administration. RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor industry trends and make recommendations regarding AV system capabilities, upgrades, and support processes Assist end-users with the setup and operation of AV systems used for group meetings, town halls, education, board meetings, and other events Maintain existing AV systems and solutions including software, firmware, and hardware Administer our corporate collaboration platforms (Zoom, WebEx, Teams, etc.) Perform patching, backups, and equipment repairs, as required Develop and maintain system documentation and end user training materials Develop and operate system monitoring tools and processes Manage projects related to AV system enhancements and implementation of new capabilities Work with users in identifying and resolving issues related to the AV systems Perform routine audits and tests of AV systems to ensure that they are performing optimally Maintain and work with 3rd party AV service providers that have implemented and support our AV systems Coordinate with other IT department team members in resolving issues to the customer's satisfaction. Accept and carry out responsibility for direction, control, and planning of their essential job responsibilities. Provide excellent customer service. REQUIREMENTS: 5 years of full time experience supporting and operating AV systems Experience with vendors including but not limited to Crestron, QSys, Shure, MediaSite Experience operating video switchers, amplifiers, digital signal processors, video recorders, and wireless microphones 1 year of experience with administration of Zoom or other collaboration services 2 years of experience with video streaming and production Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures. This position requires a proactive, problem-solving individual who is able to manage a varied workload with constantly changing priorities. Individual must be detail oriented, accurate, well organized and able to work effectively under pressure. Must have excellent interpersonal skills by demonstrating the ability to develop and maintain positive rapport with a diverse employee/customer population. Training and mentoring of junior technicians, working in a team environment. Must be able to meet expectations of the position with minimal guidance or supervision. Regular attendance required.
