Tyler Technologies is seeking an experienced business leader to serve as the Vice President of Operations for it's Local Government Division. The VP of Operations will report to the Senior VP of Operations and will be responsible for providing senior leadership to sales operations, support operations, facilities, and administrative teams across the division and strong partnering with the divisional project management office. Additionally, the VP will be responsible for understanding and tying sales and operational impacts to the financial planning and P&L management of the division. The VP will need to have a deep understanding how things flow from opportunities in the sales pipeline all the way to how revenue will be recognized as opportunities close and are delivered. The VP will also focus on processes and procedures that establish consistency across divisional business units to help shape data-driven business decisions and enable a world-class client experience when a client's relationship spans multiple divisional products.

Responsibilities

Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Quickly understand and align with divisional revenue and margin goals and objectives.
  • Increase and measure revenue growth, profitability, margin, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure divisional operational teams (sales operations, support operations, facilities and administrative teams) are built to balance scalability with serving the divisional business units effectively.
  • Partner with divisional project management office to drive tool adoption, monitor and audit revenue and other project accounting controls, and ensure consistent management of external client projects.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, client (internal and external) focus and discovery, and growth.
  • Drive adoption of key tools, platforms, procedures and more to ensure that data is consistently and predictably available across the division and that processes followed align to Tyler controls, standards and needs.
  • Be an advocate and thought leader on operational strategies that help drive a consistent Tyler employee and external client experience across the division's business units.
  • Recruit, lead, build, cultivate and manage best-in-class operational teams.
  • Continue to build and develop an organization that can dynamically scale with a rapidly growing sales channel.
Financial Responsibilities:
  • Manage the P&L to meet revenue, expense and margin objectives/targets.
  • Monitor sales forecasts and actuals and tie impact to backlog tracking, financial forecasting and sales quota objectives.
  • Insure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and planning according to the vision/strategy/objectives.
  • Measure efficiency across entire team operations, execution, delivery, customer contracts, planning, budgeting/forecasting, revenue tracking, and implementation management.
  • Assist the sales and development teams (when needed and appropriate) in key contract negotiations.
Administration Responsibilities:
  • Conduct performance management evaluations of staff in accordance with the Divisional Performance Factors (performance evaluations, discipline, hiring/firing, compensation) and timelines
  • Evaluate/enhance/update and enforce all policies/procedures to identify inefficiencies and potential threats/problems.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of senior management experience within a software company.10+ years of senior management experience within a software company.
  • Working understanding of Tyler's portfolio of products a plus.
  • A minimum of a B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Has worked for a software company with similar complexities associated with licensing agreements, sales model.
  • Previously demonstrated/proven track record in: o Increasing revenue, profitability, and margin and streamlining efficiency in every area of the operation.
  • Building analytical and factual data models, leveraging multiple platforms, to shape business decisions and create reliable financial forecasts
  • Proactive & creative problem solving skills and ability to evaluate options, analyze complex problems, present possible solutions in a simple, easily understood manner.
  • Implement best practices, and continuous process improvement via establishing/measuring key performance indicators and tracking mechanisms.
  • The ability and willingness to make tough calls and, if necessary, take tough actions to further the business.
  • Action oriented and willing/able to function in a continually transforming environment.
  • Clear thinker, with a structured approach to identifying and solving problems.
  • Technically proficient, willing and able to dive deep into the details if necessary.
  • Understands and values the use of technology for optimal effectiveness.

State Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements for Colorado, Connecticut, and Nevada

Salary will generally fall between $120,000 - $145,000 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
