At Children's Connections, you will work with families, children, and providers to support several programs including adoption, child care, nutrition, parenting, pregnancy support, and youth services in communities throughout Texas and the United States.

Childrens Connections Inc. is currently looking for a full-time Administrative Assistant to join the fast pace of this established agency. The Administrative Assistant works closely with the agency directors. This job is important in the lives of many others.

WORK ACTIVITIES: The Administrative Assistant conducts a variety of administrative tasks to assist management in operations of the agency. Agency programs include: skills and experience. Program possibilities include: crime victims services, parenting, adoption, professional development, respite services and nutrition.

Issue, monitor, inventory and returns of company property as needed

Maintain data spreadsheets, hard copy files and print reports

Maintain a professional appearance, office environment and organized workspace

Communicate effectively with clients, staff, contractors, other agencies and persons in crisis.

Answer telephone calls and emails, handling needs of callers as assigned and record and distribute messages in a timely, professional manner

Occasional evenings and weekends

Accept phone calls after hours on rotating basis

Other duties as assigned

Distribute and respond to emails, faxes and mail

Plant and implement social media posts, events and activities

Organize procedures, policy manuals and forms, as needed

Job Qualifications:

2 to 5 years work experience in an office setting required

Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms

Appropriate computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Social Media

Must have previous office experience in busy office setting

Have no convictions of felony or misdemeanor classified as an offense against the person or family, or public indecency, or a felony violation of a substance included in the Texas Controlled Substance Act

Must have reliable transportation, with a good driving record and liability insurance

Must have respect and understanding of people from different races, cultures, and backgrounds

Must be flexible to accommodate a growing and changing company

Must have ability to operate office equipment including computers, Internet, alarm, telephone system, copier, fax, shredder, etc.

Must be competent and have previous skills in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel

Must be able to successfully pass TB test, drug test, and background checks. Random drug testing is conducted.

Qualified candidates must not conduct work for themselves or other agencies that would be a conflict of interest with any CCI program and must be able to pass criminal and child abuse/neglect background checks. As a Administrative Assistant, you must possess:

All candidates MUST meet the following criteria PRIOR to applying for the position:

Reliable transportation, current auto liability insurance and a good driving record are required.

Commitment to participate in training including CPR/First Aid training, and additional orientation and training provided by teleconference, webinar or online self-study.

Computer with Word, PowerPoint and Excel (Microsoft Office Suite) skills; database management skills are a plus

Good communication skills, being "client friendly" and being able to work well with all types of people is a must.

Excellent writing skills

Must not conduct work for self or other agencies that would be a perceived conflict of interest with any CCI program

Must successfully pass criminal and child abuse/neglect background checks, TB test and drug testing.
