compensation: $1500-$20.00 depending on experience required working in a doctor's office with benefits

MEDICAL CODER, BILLER & COLLECTOR
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years medical office experience.
Major Responsibilities/Tasks:
1. Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges on a daily basis.
2. Process insurance information for billing company in a timely manner.
3. Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.
4. Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges on a daily basis.
5. Provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances.
6. Provide physician with status report as requested.
7. Review all EOBs and correct errors promptly.
8. Copy patient information and forward to requesting party after receiving appropriate consent to release medical records.
9. Maintain files and records in a confidential manner.
10. Assist with front desk, scheduling, reminding of appointments, receiving patients as needed
11. Maintain patient confidentiality.
12. Assist with correcting transcription.
13. Must be able to work late on rotating basis.
14. Assist with providing providing copies of medical records in HIPAA compliant manner.
15. Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
EDUCATION: High school graduation or GED.
3 years billing in doctor's office desired.
