Onin Staffing is currently recruiting for an experience Web Developer for the greater McAllen area.
JOB SUMMARY
The Web Developer position will work in small teams involved in developing new applications with web and mobile front ends along with providing maintenance and enhancements to current applications. This position will interact both with internal team members as well as business users to define requirements, design and test custom solutions, and troubleshoot bugs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
1. Work with a small team to define, design, develop, test, and deploy custom web and mobile-based applications and business process automation solutions.
2. Develops applications by designing database architecture, workflows, and integrating with third-party APIs; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems and information servers both on premises and in the cloud.
3. Completes applications development by coordinating with project managers, support personnel, and other developers throughout the development lifecycle to define requirements, activities, and schedules; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
4. Creates technical methodologies for engineering solutions to development problems.
5. Tier 2 support of operations teams for high-level issues, enhancement requests, and bug fixes
6. Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
7. Support and mentor junior developers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with a variety of web based programming/scripting languages including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, etc.
Strong knowledge of UNIX based Terminal commands.
Experience working with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap, Foundation, or Semantic UI.
Strong knowledge of Git and source control services such as GitHub or BitBucket.
Experience working with various content management systems, including Wordpress, Magento, Sitefinity, etc.
Knowledgeable of REST-Based APIs.
Experience creating custom themes for Wordpress.
Demonstrate proficiency in using Internet related applications/tools such as FTP clients, DNS management, Web hosting management, PHPMyAdmin, and others.
Experience with responsive web development and design.
Have a good eye for design concepts and good user experience/user interaction implementation.
Has strong knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and Google Analytics.
Show a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new software to expand skill set.
Able to manage project development and meet client expectations and specifications on projects.
Able to provide mentoring and team leadership to junior developers.
Preferred but Not Required
Strong knowledge of CSS layout Modules like Flexbox and CSS Grid.
Strong knowledge of CSS preprocessors like SASS.
Experience working with web application technologies/frameworks such as Laravel, Node.js, Express, Angular.js, React, Vue.js, etc.
Experience with SEO tools such as SEMrush and Google Search Console.
Experience with Marketing tools like Google Adwords and Google Adsense.
Experience working with Graphic Design software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, Sketch, Figma, etc.
Education/Experience
Must have 3+ years of job experience performing the above tasks.
Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent.
