Job DescriptionKelly Services is currently assisting our customer with hiring an experienced Supply Chain Manager. The Supply Chain Manager will be an important contributor to the team with the goal of developing strategic vendor relationships and purchasing strategies that optimize purchasing costs and ensure that materials and supplies are available on a timely basis for field work and shop production.RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish procurement strategies for acquisition of project materials and plant materials that optimize quality, cost, terms and timely delivery
Develops and maintains excellent supplier relations, leading negotiations of pricing and terms
Monitors and forecasts costs for key commodities, including steel
Maintains database of supplier costs in ERP system and assists sales team in using that data to develop quotations
Tracks supplier performance and conducts ongoing evaluation of costs
Places purchase orders in response to customer orders, inventory stocking requirements and production needs and expedites or adjusts supplier delivery schedules as needed to meet changing production plans
Develops vendor managed inventory programs, particularly for plate, to enhance company-s ability to reduce lead times to customers
Creates plans for the effective organization and temporary storage of project materials and general inventories
Coordinates material deliveries to field projects with production team
Maintains accurate records for inventories and job costs; leads and analyzes results of cycle count program
Negotiates contracts with subcontractors
Determines and maintains appropriate levels of raw materials inventory
Directs administrative staff including one out of state assistant and receiving/inventory control
Manages costs and bids for capital expenditures and other projects as assigned
Ensures that ERP system transactions are complete, accurate and timely

Excellent active listening, negotiation, leadership and presentation skills
Ability to design and execute purchasing strategy
Experience with building long-term vendor relationships
Minimum 5 years- experience as Purchasing Manager (10+ preferred)
A good working knowledge of an ERP environment as it relates to purchasing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with the Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
