SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure, and as a member of the Infrastructure Team, the Network Engineer II is an experienced IT professional whose primary responsibility is partnering with the current Network Engineer II - Voice in maintaining and optimizing the organization' s Cisco UCCX, Call Manager, and Webex/Teams solutions as well as working with the Network Engineer III in maintaining on premises and cloud switching and routing. Along with working as part of a team supporting datacenter switching and routing, responsibilities will extend to our CoLo, branch office networks, Microsoft Azure network, AWS, as well as the implementation of our broadband circuits, IPSEC VPN tunnels, MPLS circuits, BGP, direct connect circuits. This role will collaborate with the Network Engineer II - Security in the configuration and execution of our firewalls, client VPN, load balancers, and other software-defined solutions that we incorporate into our networks.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Learn, document, and optimize company network to meet or exceed the requirements of the business, utilizing a reference architecture and established best practices.
  • Technical subject matter expert for changes and implementations, ensuring the implementation adheres to the proposed design and follows change control procedures.
  • Engage in project communications using a consultative approach, anticipate obstacles, analyze risk, and recommend steps to mitigate.
  • Develop a sound understanding of organization' s functional and business objectives that drive and shape technology requirements and design deliverables.
  • Ensure designs and infrastructure solutions fulfill functional and technical requirements, adhere to processes and standards, favor simplicity over complexity, and promote supportability.
  • Provide advanced technical expertise and oversight for the resolution of outages, service level issues and other events in partnership with support teams.
  • Employ a servant leader approach to assisting and mentoring associates with a team first mentality that promotes continuity, cross-training, technical competence, and team resiliency.
  • Support network device deployment, configuration, management, and lifecycle.
  • Design and implement efficiency, consolidation, high availability, resiliency, and best practices across the routing, switching, IaaS, and WAN environments.
  • Stay up to date in latest wireless network technologies including Cisco Meraki
  • Maintain skill set and stay abreast of emerging technologies and issues
  • Coordinate network maintenance/downtime with IT and lines of business
  • Advocate adherence to IT policies, procedures, and IT general controls.
  • Support multiple datacenters, more than 90 branch office and corporate locations across Texas and Oklahoma, almost 400 network devices supporting roughly 2000 employees

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in completion of mandatory annual regulatory compliance exams.
  • Provide day to day support of overall network infrastructure.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in rotating on-call support of server/storage environment.
  • Proactively creates accurate, representative, and usable network diagrams & documentation.
  • Populates common solutions database and participates in problem resolution and RCA.
  • Occasional travel within Texas and Oklahoma will be required. (Less than 10%)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor' s degree in technology, engineering, MIS, or additional experience in lieu of degree
  • 5 or more years of enterprise level experience supporting Cisco networks, UCCX, and Call Manager in an environment with more than 100 agents.
  • Cisco CCNP Collaboration or CCNP Enterprise. Additional experience coupled with CCNA may be accepted contingent upon completion of CCNP Collaboration within first six months.
  • Proficiency with firewall solutions such as Checkpoint, Fortinet, and/or Palo Alto,
  • Proficiency with Cisco enterprise level switching and routing solutions connecting datacenter, CoLo, IaaS, and remote offices in a hybrid environment.
  • Proficiency with subnetting, DNS, MPLS, STP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IPSEC, TCPIP, DHCP/IP address management, and packet capture and inspection.
  • Working experience with load balancing, high availability and disaster recovery HA/DR
  • Some experience with network security and network hardening.
  • Proven track record of planning, coordinating and executing IT initiatives at scale
  • Excellent technical skills as well as strong team orientation and communication
  • Proficient using configuration automation including server builds and user provisioning
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills. Works effectively as a member of a high-performing team.
  • Strong capabilities around configuration management, capacity planning, and analysis,
  • Understands systems dependencies and interrelation to the business.
  • Ability to analyze complex, cross-functional and cross-platform issues.
  • Champion of following established best practices, continuous improvement, prioritizing cyber hygiene, and avoiding and, where possible, reducing technical debt.
  • Working knowledge of system monitoring and alerting tools, including Solarwinds
  • Able to engage in a professional manner with all levels of management and staff
  • Demonstrates initiative, the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and size work efforts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficient supporting IBM iSeries, Cisco UCS, and modular compute environments
  • Proficient with Cisco Datacenter Network Manager (DCNM)
  • Working knowledge of configuration management, ITSM, FitSM, ITIL
  • Certifications in Forescout Suite, Checkpoint Firewall, F5, other Network Security
  • Experience as part of an Agile/DevOps team and sprint-based work execution
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust Network Access solutions
  • Experience implementing (Firewall as a Service) FWaaS and SD-WAN
  • Strong Vendor Management Skills
  • Working knowledge of current Cisco Licensing
  • Aptitude for critical, abstract, and double loop thinking
  • Experience working in Financial Services and meeting FFIEC, FDIC regulatory requirements
