At Abatix, we are a family and we make a difference for our customers!Job SummaryThe Help/Service Desk position provides phone/computer based technical support for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for approximately 150 employees. Responsibilities and Duties
Troubleshoot, isolate, repair, and resolve all employee issues concerning Dell desktopslaptops, printers, FAX, copiers, audio/video equipment, misc. peripherals
Screens, refers, and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers
Demonstrate a consistent sense of urgency on open issues to ensure resolution
Create user accounts, setup, and deploy new computers as needed
Maintain an accurate inventory of computer and IT assets
Participate in special projects and performs other duties as required
Enforce the policies and procedures of the Information Technology Dept.
Follow established guidelines and procedures
Work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Qualifications and Skills
1 year experience Help/Service Desk support, preferably in a corporate environment
2 years? experience working in a Windows environment
2 years? experience with PC software/hardware installation, troubleshooting, and repair
2 years? experience with latest Microsoft OS
2 years? experience with latest version of Microsoft Office
1 year experience Active Directory administration
1 year experience with use and configuration of mobile OS?s Google Android and Apple iOS devices
1 year experience with LAN/WAN technologies (ethernet, TCP/IP, and VPN), troubleshooting, and repair
Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
Professional ?can-do? attitude, appearance, demeanor, and work ethic
Desire & ability to quickly achieve an understanding of commonly used software, hardware, and processes
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 Lbs
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Ability to exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations
Strong critical and analytical thinking skills for problem solving
Strong verbal and written communication skills using fluent English
Typing/keyboarding minimum of 45 words per minute using the home row/key position
