DescriptionIf you're looking to take your career into the Construction/Contractor industry, there is a terrific full-time position available for an experienced Staff Accountant at Robert Half Finance. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This North Richland Hills, Texas area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.Your responsibilities
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

Quickbooks Online experience desired
Foundational knowledge in construction
Strong familiarity with Commercial Construction Projects
Expertise in Construction Accounting
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
ERP system experience
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Ability to meet deadlines
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
