JOB SUMMARY
The Mechanic must have mechanical knowledge and experience sufficient to repair and maintain our fleet of trucks with the end result of reducing downtime and increasing safety. Must be able to inspect, troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics and repair situations that occur in our fleet of trucks.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Must have own hand and pneumatic tools Basic knowledge of diesel engine repairs and Cummins Insite Brake Certification required. Able to inspect, troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics and repair brakes Able to inspect, troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics and repair HVAC
Basic knowledge of tanker trailer barrel counter. Experience in a team-oriented, collaborative work groups. Able to conform to shifting priorities, responsibilities, strategies, demands and timelines. Ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, mange time, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Conduct general maintenance and preventive maintenance on transport, bobtail, and small fleet trucks. Able to perform and complete DOT inspections. Able to inspect, troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics and repair minor electrical issues. Able to inspect, troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics and repair wheels and tires. Ensure that all repairs and PM's are completed according to the manufacturers' and Xcalibur Logistics specification and guidelines. Maintain the work area in a safe and clean condition. Ensure work area is clean after each job. Ensure all work documentation conforms to Xcalibur Logistics policies. Ability to work independently.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma required (or GED/High School Equivalency - certificate is acceptable). 3-5 years of general heavy duty diesel truck mechanic experience and/or technical school equivalent. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must keep accurate records of repairs and equipment condition.
