Kelly Services is currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Field Technician to join a long-term team in Orange, Texas! The Health & Safety Field Technician role is designed to help support the implementation and execution of the EH&S management system (work processes, standards, procedures) necessary to meet site and business objectives for health and safety.n

nThe Health and Safety Field Technician provides hands-on health and safety activities for Operations and Maintenance. This position also acts as resource to coach department personnel on EH&S responsibilities, goals and the effective application of EH&S Work Processes.n

nResponsibilities include:n

nnt

Act as first point of contact for all Field Health and Safety concerns in the area of responsibility. Involve other appropriate Dow EH&S personnel, as appropriate.

nt

Provide coaching / mentoring and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all personal safety standards & Life Critical Standards (LCS).

nt

Attend morning safety meetings in area of responsibility.

nt

Conduct safety meetings and/or safety stand-downs, when needed.

nt

Conduct field visits and observations of Operations and Maintenance activities to ensure EH&S work processes and programs in place. Intervene with workers if appropriate for safety concerns.

nt

Utilize Dow tools for recording observations and interventions. Help identify trends and ways to mitigate unsafe behaviors and conditions.

nt

Evaluate Safe Work Permits (SWP), iCards, and Job Safety Analysis, etc in the field to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality. Conduct coaching to improve quality as necessary.

Escalate any identified safety concerns to the appropriate business-aligned EH&S Delivery Technician or to the Site EH&S Delivery leader

nt

Assist project teams with safety topics and materials, when requested, for safety tailgates, meetings, or learnings

nt

Assist in collecting and inputting man-hours worked for metrics

nt

For all EH&S unplanned events, provide guidance and assistance for response, as appropriate, communicate to EH&S leadership, assist EH&S Tech and facility personnel in recordkeeping and reporting of event in Incident Management Tool

If appropriate, assist team in creating Learning Event Report (LER) for any unplanned event with information to leverage

Complete all computer-based training assigned and participate in any requested departmental training.

Attend the Health & Safety Network meetings when available in order to stay current with site changes and initiatives

nt

Participate in all department meetings and communication sessions to stay informed of all activities

nREQUIREMENTSn

HS Diploma or higher.

nt

2 -3 years of previous work experience in an EH&S role.

nt

Above average knowledge of EH&S work processes and tools is recommended.

nt

CSST certification preferred
