Sr. Associate, Operational Risk
Dallas, United States of AmericaWHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGThe Sr. Associate, Operational Risk is responsible for oversight of the strategic development, implementation, and effective execution of the Operational Risk program, including the identification, management, governance and reporting of Operational Risks within the organization. Oversight is executed via ongoing and periodic Monitoring, point in time Testing, Targeted Risk Reviews (TRR) and BAU Oversight and Independent Challenge (IC).Key program elements for this role cover primarily Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Issue Management and Remediation. Other program elements may include training, awareness and communication, KRIs, policy adherence, and monitoring.Essential Functions:- Provide ongoing independent challenge and monitoring of RCSA and Issue Management activities executed for Santander Consumer
- Assist in the ongoing or periodic monitoring of operational risks within the first line of defense leveraging targeted metrics and other information
- Contributes to key stakeholder reporting, escalation and communication to Risk Governance Forums
- Helps drive culture of risk awareness.
- Participates in the creation and delivery of operational risk training.

- Education -
- Bachelor's Degree: Business, Finance, Management, or equivalent field.
- or equivalent work experience
- Experience -
- 3-6 years Risk Management in Financial Services technology industry
- Skills & Abilities -
- Strong operational risk management principles, methodologies and tools, governance principles and activity preferably in a financial services technology environment.
- Knowledge of workflow/processes and risks/controls, including: IT Asset Inventory and CMDB, Network Security incl. Firewall and Segmentation, Incident & Change Management, Technology Architecture
- Ability to independently operate in a complex, matrixed environment; adept at delivering and maintaining productive working relationships across business, functions, geographies and lines of defense
- Advanced operational risk, process, and control validation and/or assessment skills.
- Ability to handle conflict resolution with other groups to ensure appropriate accounting guidance is followed.
- Ability to adjust to new developments/changing circumstances.
- Ability to convey a sense of urgency and drive issues/projects to closure.
- Ability to effectively interact with the market, executive management and vendors.
- Ability to adapt and adjust to multiple demands and competing priorities.
