Responsible for leading small capital projects team.
Ensures all the small capital projects adhere to the Capital Stewardship Organization Capability (CSOC) expectations and utilizes the Governance Process appropriately.
Liaison between Chevron and the Engineering Contractors relative to active and upcoming projects to ensure adequate resourcing.
Leads monthly Alliance Improvement Team meetings with Engineering Contractors
Supports Safety as a key driver for everyday behaviors and decisions. Stewards the safe execution of projects by building safety into project decisions. Holds direct reports accountable for their safety performance as outlined in their roles and responsibilities.
Maintains Project Resourcing plan for current and forecasted projects
Mentors less experienced Project Managers and Project Engineers.
Ensures Reliability Action Plans are completed on appropriate projects.
Ensures Projects adhere to the Chevron Engineering Standards.
Ensures Projects are integrated with Turnaround work for those that are to be executed during a Turnaround.
Ensures Project Managers are proactively managing project costs / forecasts versus plan and update as appropriate (in monthly project updates).
Ensures Long Range Planning in early phases of the project.
Actively seeks and applies lessons learned and best practices from within the Business Unit, other Chevron locations, industry, and contractors.
Participates in VIPs, and Peer Assists/Peer Reviews.
Steward effort to improve cost competitiveness of projects relative to the industry.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
7-10 years of total experience; 5 years’ Designs/Mechanical Engineering/FE/Project Management in facilitates
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management practices
Proven ability to work in and foster a strong team environment with minimal supervision
Proven knowledge of refining or similar facilities and integration of project work in these facilities
Prior Supervisory Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Houston area candidate
Demonstrated familiarity with gated decision-making processes
Proven experience with chemical or process plant design and equipment
CSOC Supreme Certification

Effective application of CPMS principles, practices and tools
Project management: specifically, in large, complex onshore plant construction.
Engineering: knowledge of design standards and practices
Experience working with engineering firms
