A SQL Report Developer develops, tests, and deploys reports using SSRS and custom tools. A Report Developer gathers requirements, analyzes data, writes and maintains SQL code, develops and deploys reports. The main objective of this position is to write custom reports based on courts and justice data in a way that meets our clients' business needs. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy ECR (Enterprise Custom Reports) on internal and client environments using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Write and maintain SSRS reports using embedded SQL, shared datasets, and store procedures on the Microsoft SQL Server platform.
  • Learn, use, and help maintain an established set of internal tools and other technologies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with project management and business analysts to develop custom reports that meet client business rules.
  • Perform data analysis to identify data patterns and anomalies.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of conversion logic.
  • Create and update reporting logic to meet client specifications in development and test environments.
  • Engage in query performance tuning.
  • Use internal tools to create, package, and deploy client reports to test and production environments.
  • Perform SQL Server administration activities (backup, restore, DBCC commands, indexing, shrink) as needed.
  • Stay current with Microsoft SQL Server technologies and current database concepts.
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Ability to train clients on data relationships, query writing, and use of SSRS a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field or relevant work experience
  • Ability to work well within deadline-oriented development structure.
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong technical abilities and desire to learn new things.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skill, teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Technical knowledge requirements:
  • Proficiently use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 2008 R2 and 2012
  • Write and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions using T-SQL and SSMS
  • Use aggregate functions in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Create and maintain complex queries in Microsoft SQL Server using T-SQL
  • Understand and use database schemas, tables, relationships, and constraints
  • Write, maintain, and troubleshoot reports written in SSRS
  • Development experience with the .NET Framework is a plus
  • Application development experience is a plus
  • Experience in delivering hands-on training instruction for SSRS and report writing a plus

State Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements for Colorado, Connecticut, and Nevada

Salary will generally fall between $45,723 - $100,000 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
