Immediate Interview (Same Day) Position : Data Architect Location: Plano TX Remote Duration: 12+ Months Client-TCS/JC Penny Job summary: As part of the Big Data Analytics team, using Big Data technology, you will be responsible for playing a lead role in developing a high performance data platform, integrating data from a variety of internal and external sources, in order to create certified data domains to support current and future analytics and data science needs. Primary Responsibilities: This is a technical role that involves defining changes to the warehouse data model, or create a new model and building scalable, efficient processes to populate or modify warehouse data The successful candidate will have hands-on data processing and data modeling experience in a "big data" environment Responsible for enterprise-wide data design, balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors. Defines data architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization, structure, attributes and nomenclature of data elements, and applies accepted data content standards to technology projects. Responsible for business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design, Database Management Systems optimization, recovery strategy and load strategy design and implementation Required Skills: 12+ years of professional experience 5+ years of hands on experience in a Data Engineering or Data Warehousing role 5+ years coding experience (Python preferred) 6+ years of hands on relevant experience in in a Data Architect role in Big Data technologies that can provide the technical direction towards re-architecting Data Models and Access Platforms big data technologies (EMR, Redshift, Hive, Snowflake or similar technologies) 4+ years of experience in cloud computing infrastructure (e.g., Amazon Web Services EC2, Elastic MapReduce) and considerations for scalable, distributed systems Knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts Expert level understanding of ETL fundamentals and building efficient data pipelines Solid understanding of Kimball design methodologies (star schema) desired Experience with Agile methodologies Significant experience leading complex data management initiatives and team sizes ranging from 5 to 20 resources Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential SYSMIND LLC is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
