As a Database Administrator Intern you would assist with the installation and maintenance of Microsoft SQL and Oracle database installations. The DBA Intern would also help support over 10,000 databases across nearly 100 product lines in the Tyler datacenter and cloud environments.
Responsibilities- Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle on various Tyler hosted platforms.
- Set up access rights and user accounts for Tyler application support teams and client access for reporting.
- Monitor disk and memory utilization, detect trends, and make recommendation to leadership concerning adding/removing hardware resources.
- May assist with application and development teams with database support.
- Provide internal technical assistance to analyst team, and provide technical answers to hosting leadership.
- Track and inventory hosting's database infrastructure.
- Follow change management and IT best practices for database administration.

- Understanding of database management systems software (MS SQL Management Studio and Oracle RDBMS)
- Familiarity with SQL
- Knowledge of software integration and connectivity
- Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
- Good organizational skills
- Good analytical ability, particularly in a technical environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Facility with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Server environments
- Familiarity with VMWare and AWS is a plus
