Description:

· Looking for candidates who have VMware experience – MUST HAVE

· Networking, Linux background – Required· Department: Technical Support Operations Job Category: Information Technology Job Title: Lab Technician· Duties: Cabling and configuring network and console link to firewalls, switches and routers.· Installing, configuring and maintaining ethernet switches, PDU’s and other rack infrastructure in lab.· Calculating power and cooling requirements for new equipment installations.· Assisting users with building and provisioning virtual machine guests in Windows, Linux, etc. Providing end-user support for infrastructure troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution.· Monitoring the laboratory network and systems to ensure reliable operation.Updating and patching network and infrastructure devices.· Implementing tools to prevent, detect; and eliminate virus, malware and active hacking threats.· Maintaining licenses (MSDN, VMware, etc) and their distribution.Maintaining lab firewall policies to allow network testing without compromising security. Purchasing and maintaining inventory, as well as, asset management records.· Skills: Qualified candidates will possess the majority of these skills.· Knowledge of common network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, Dynamic routing protocols, SSH/SCP/SFTP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, CIFS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, etc.· Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 networking.· Experience managing CENTOS, Debian, or other Linux distributions.· Windows, MacOS, and VMware admin experience

Education:· BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.· 3+ Years experience working in a technical/troubleshooting/support role.
