Materials Lab Technician Plano, TX Contract Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of work experience
- Exposure/experience of communicating with Engineers. Need to have strong communication skills.
- MS Office
- Technical Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with Engineering as well as other technical support groups
- Microsoft Office Skills (Excel)
- Experience operating highly sensitive analytical lab equipment
- Ability to use technical standards and drawing systems such as ASTM, ISO or industry to complete raw material testing
- Capable of working in enclosed, environmentally controlled spaces
- Capable of meeting the physical demands required to perform job tasks to include moderate bending and lifting to 40 pounds
- Preferred:
- Associate Degree in Material Science / related technical discipline or equivalent work experience with chemicals and/or a Test Lab Environment You understand the principles of user centered design
- You've worked with product designers and are passionate about great user experiences
- You are able to choose the right research or validation technique to learn about the desired experience, test assumptions and address risks
- You want to make things work. Coming up with creative solutions comes naturally to you and you're comfortable being set loose without a lot of direction
- You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty
- You're strong communicator, confident in expressing your point of view from a position of knowledge and experience
- You're also receptive to feedback and open to revising your plans when appropriate
- We think the knowledge acquired earning a degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or Entrepreneurship would be of great value in this position, but if you're smart and have the experience that backs up your abilities, for us, talent trumps degree every time
