Position : Network Engineer Location : Plano, TX Duration : Long Term Contract: W2
Job Role:- Analyze, design, install, support, and document complex network solutions for on-premise corporate networks
- Assist with deployment of various network devices and services which include SD-WAN, Cisco routers, switches, wireless LAN, DMVPN, MPLS, and RADIUS
- Facilitate and assist with network maintenance and system upgrades including IOS packs, patches, and hot fixes
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Provide level 3 and major incident support
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Create and maintain network and DR documents and diagrams showcasing high availability, scalability, capacity, logical/physical and disaster recovery
- Liaise with vendors and central network personnel for problem resolution requirements
- Proven experience with designing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex networks
- Deep knowledge in routing and switching to include multicast, OSPF, BGP & hands-on experience with Cisco Routing and Switching Product family (NX-OS & IOS)
- Expert knowledge of routing protocols in a mixed environment
- These include but are not limited to: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, HSRP, GLBP, VRRP, DHCP, DNS, & multicast
- Knowledge of VLAN technology, VTP & STP protocols
- Experience in managing Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers
- Knowledge of internet links, SD-WAN, cellular, and MPLS
- Experience in QoS tagging and traffic optimization
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- Experience in installation and configuration of physical switches and routers
- Packet capture and analysis experience (Sniffer, Wireshark, etc)
- Solid understanding of information security and computer systems concepts, encryption protocols, and networking protocols
- Practical experience working with cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure
- Excellent analytical technical skills but also high tier communication ability (email, instant messaging)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience in a relevant area of study with a preference for WAN/LAN technologies
- Primary office is Ridgeville, SC with reliable transportation to and from the office
- Flexible working arrangements are available for this role with potential for 2 days remote (TBD)
- Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP a plus
