The Database Administrator will be part of a high performing team that is tasked with supporting the VA DoD Identity Repository (VADIR). Your primary responsibility will be the administration and replication of the data. Secondarily, you will support database development by writing PL/SQL and SQL functions and procedures as most of the application business logic is contained in the database tier. Monitor jobs and query tune for optimization when needed. This role is 100% remote. Primary Responsibilities:- Assist with the configuration and deployments of systems in the AWS environment
- Write complex SQL and PL/SQL to generate reports and data extracts
- Debug and resolve application and data issues
- Interface with internal teams and customers
- Participate in, and document the results of, peer code reviews
- Create SDLC mandated project and product documentation
- Report to a Scrum team lead with additional oversight provided by project manager
- Create and manage tables, indexes, schemas, and database links
- Manage all phases of the SDLC from analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance
- Monitoring the performance of hardware and software
- Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field with a minimum of 5+ years of related experience required; 8+ years of related experience highly preferred.
- Additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of education.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance under VA regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- UNIX Shell Scripting
- Strong PL/SQL skills
- Proven history working with Query tuning and optimization
- Understanding of Oracle triggers and stored procedures
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to develop, document, and ensure adherence to technical standards
- Ability to construct complex queries for customer data extracts
