The ability to obtain a Public Trust is required. The ideal candidate will perform the full range of System Administration duties as necessary to support software development, SQA and UAT systems including, but limited to the following:- Installation and maintenance of hardware, system, and application software
- Prepare design specifications, analysis, and recommendations
- Work closely with support organizations, program and product management, security, developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams
- Create and maintain documentation of all procedures, configurations, settings, performance, capacity, technical adjustments of servers and their services
- Perform the initialization, implementation, configuration and tuning of hardware and software components
- Engage system stakeholders in relation to hardware components, software applications and their upgrades to determine requirements and the impact of changes
- Bachelor's degree and 7+ years or alternately 10+ years of proven IT experience in systems administration supporting large software development and operations initiatives that are similar in scope and complexity.
- Candidate also MUST meet eligibility requirements for obtaining any necessary security clearance.
- Fluent with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Clustering / Cloud Computing
- Fluent in Server and Desktop Virtualization products like VMware, AWS and MAG
- Experience configuring Oracle 10g/11g, MS-SQL and Cache' environments.
- Fluent with Web Server management and their different authentication schemes - Apache, WebLogic or IIS
- Fluent in TCP/IP troubleshooting across different network devices
- Understanding or experience of software development and integration processes including CMMi/SEI methodologies.
- Experience in PHI / PII controlled environments
- Prior experience programming with Perl, Python, Java, JDBC and WebLogic scripting language.
- Experience with large clinical systems.
- Knowledge or understanding of Agile development practices and test-driven development.
- Good working knowledge of VA applications and environments.
- Experience with large Oracle Databases and WebLogic
- Experience focused as BEA WebLogic System Administrator or as a Systems Administrator in UNIX and/or Linux, designing and implementing client/server backend system integrations.
