Responsibilities

State Farm is looking for an Identity & Access Control Analyst with a development background to be a member of the State Farm's Authorization Management team. The product team provides business areas with the tooling, solutions, and oversight required to define and maintain the principle of least privilege.

The new team member will engage in the development of automation and self-service strategies and tooling options. The candidate selected for this role will be required to develop, automate, and support State Farm's identity and access management tools. They will work with teams across the enterprise to design and develop solutions which support the management of accesses and entitlements for all of State Farm's human and non-human identities. This position is for a full stack developer who will support end to end development of products from infrastructure automation, REST API development, and the deployment of resources to a cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and/or Azure).

We Are Looking for Candidates with the following skills and experiences:
  • 3-5 years prior software development experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year hands on experience with LDAP, Active Directory, Unix, Mainframe, Oracle and DB2.
  • A minimum of 1 year hands on experience with AWS.
  • Experience building and maintaining Continuous Delivery pipelines, automation tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to relay complex technical knowledge to multiple audiences.
  • Experience in Identity governance platforms such as SailPoint is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices.

Additional Details:
  • May be required to work nights and weekends
  • Suggested certifications may include CISSP, GSEC, CISM, CRISC, GCIA, GREM, GCWN, GAWN, or GPPA
  • May develop and support solutions using contemporary automation and/or programming languages
  • Must apply discretion and appropriate security measures when handling confidential and sensitive information

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills and Experience:
  • Prior software development experience
  • JavaScript, Angular, API web services development, and AWS
  • Application development tools (editors, compilers)
  • Continuous Delivery pipelines, automation tools (Jenkins, UrbanCode, GitOPS)
  • Databases (Relational and NoSQL)
  • Application servers (Tomcat)
  • CD/CI best practices (experience w/Gitlab, Jenkins)
  • Understanding of software design patterns, testing techniques, and software security scanning
  • Build and maintain applications and tools using scripting languages (example: PERL, Python, PowerShell, Bash, NodeJS).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to relay complex technical knowledge to multiple audiences

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in IAM and working knowledge of role based access control, policy-based access controls, and identity life cycle management.
  • Versed in security best practices.
  • Ability to integrate multiple technologies through technical design
  • Strong thought leader with ability to think analytically and work with a team to solve problems
  • Experience developing and maintaining operational procedure documentation and architecture diagrams, roadmaps, industry research summaries, etc.
  • Ability to foster innovation, encourage diversity of thought, & incorporate new ideas
  • Ability to deploy applications/functions to public cloud platforms through industry tools utilized by State Farm. (e.g. Terraform, Git, etc.)

Incumbency:

This position will have a 18-month incumbency period, beginning on the effective date of the position, which must be met before the employee can post for any other lateral State Farm position. Employees may be considered for leadership or Technology Engineer openings at any time, and a promotional position within the same job structure (i.e. Professional/Technical or Para-professional/Support) after 6 months from the effective date of the position. In these cases, the remaining incumbency would be waived. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.
