The selected candidate will intern with Raytheon during summer 2024 as part of the Raytheon Fellowship Program.Job Summary:The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic intern level programmer able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with the Raytheon Technologies team. Seeking students in their sophomore or junior year or seniors if pursuing a master’s. Upon program acceptance, participants will be submitted for a national security clearance. Once security clearance has been granted, interns will work part time during their junior and senior years, supporting Raytheon programs from the Cityline campus in Richardson, TX. Working part-time for Raytheon prior to obtaining the security clearance is an option depending on the student's desire and the hiring department’s ability to provide appropriate work. Participants will receive a $10,000 signing bonus upon acceptance to the program and an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to full-time employee status post-graduation. Participants will sign an offer agreement, committing to remain with Raytheon for a minimum of two years after becoming a full-time employee.As an employee you will have opportunities to grow your career beyond software if you choose. Work as a software developer and integrator as part of a development team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields. Specific duties include:
Responsible for performing development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of hardware and software platforms
Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, integrate and ensure they meet performance standards for stability and resource utilization
Develop software as necessary to integrate between components, perform new capabilities, to facilitate testing, etc.
Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code overage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews, and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code
Basic Qualifications: Must be a sophomore or above by the start of summer 2024 in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Proficiency in Java and/or C/C computer programming language on a Unix/Linux platform
Experience using software development tools like Eclipse, Jira, Junit, and Git
Knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis, Design, and Programming
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to U.S Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements (ex. Positions on government customer sites)
Preferred Qualifications:
Software development experience with C or C#
Experience with scripting languages such as Javascript, Python or Ruby and familiarity with a Javascript framework such as AngularJS or VueJS
Experience with version control software such as GIT or CVS
Experience with continuous integration tools such as Hudson/Jenkins or Cruise Control
Experience or familiar with Agile development practices
