A place where we will challenge ourselves, our teams, and the status quo and where we will work to find a way – the right way – to achieve what others can only dream of.Job DescriptionThe Tactical, Communications, & Maintenance Applications department focuses on creating avionics solutions for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircrafts, including development & integration of software applications to control and status various radios and surveillance equipment for domestic and international customers. Our engineers work in a highly collaborative Agile environment with the ability to learn from and influence multiple programs and domains regularly.We are seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, verification, and certification of a new Surveillance processing application. This Product Owner role is responsible for managing scope, schedule, and budget using Earned Value (EV) techniques and trends. The successful candidate will be proactive in deriving, defining, and prioritizing work, removing impediments in a rapid development environment, and assuring product quality is met serving as customer proxy.Primary Responsibilities

Lead software engineering development team within Agile framework

Develop and maintain incremental plans for team to meet program milestones

Responsible for team performance against scope, schedule, and budget

Proactively identify and resolve impediments to enable full productivity

Forecast and mitigate risks while harvesting opportunities

Present and support technical discussions for both internal and external stakeholders

Ensure development team maintains compliance with certification requirements

Continually promote and improve upon processes and best practices

Coordinate and status resource needs between program management and engineering leadership

Participate in and lead bid and pursuit activities

Required Qualifications

US Citizenship is required

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required

Ability to work collaboratively with team members and independently on assigned tasks

Expertise with software development lifecycle

Control Account Management and Earned Value reporting

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly self-motivated and contributing to a positive work environment

Surveillance standards (DO-260B, DO-317A, AIMS 1000B) Knowledge Base

DO-178 Design Assurance Level C (DAL-C) experience

Product Owner/Agile Software Development experience

Cost Account Management (CAM) experience

Test Automation (Python) experience

Embedded Software experience

Pro Line Fusion Display experience

Mil-Std-1553B bus protocol experience

Ethernet bus protocol experience (TCP/UDP)

Engineering Tool experience (JAMA, DOORS, ALM, JIRA, etc.)

Military Radio and/or Surveillance Knowledge Base
