Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction in the program, advising students, and participating in scholarly activities serving the college, university or local community as needed. Lecturers are responsible for teaching undergraduate General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and/or other introductory courses and laboratories in the Department of Chemistry.The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) was created by the Texas Legislature in 2013 as the first major public university of the 21st century in Texas. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
