The Nursing Administrative Supervisor supervises and coordinates Nursing personnel in all areas of Hospital to provide safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective Nursing care. The Nursing Administrative Supervisor also manages daily work schedules, trains and supervises personnel, oversees general upkeep of facilities, and maintains continuity of patient care. Below are the essential functions for the role.
Participate in revising and developing departmental policies and procedures; interpret and advise subordinate personnel on policies and procedures while ensuring adherence to significant Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards and Hospital policy.
Enforce all Hospital and administrative policies and procedures including security, safety, fire, admission, and non-nursing related policies and procedures.
Assist in interviewing and selecting prospective employees.
Monitor the condition of patients, critically ill patients, staffing situations, and unusual events, which occur during assigned shift.
Respond to emergencies with initiative action and direct nursing and ancillary personnel until hospital administrative personnel arrive.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with various departmental personnel, patients' families, Physicians, and outside agencies to exchange information, resolve operational problems, and improve quality of patient care.
Perform professional nursing to patients in response to workload or staffing shortages.
The ideal candidate for the Nursing Administrative Supervisor role is someone who is able to maintain effective communication with patients, staff and physicians; effectively deals with change and uncertainty; copes well with stress and pressure; maintains a positive outlook; and works with staff to build a great teamwork environment.

Shift/Schedule - PRN, 12 hr shift, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday-Friday including weekends to cover for PTO and vacation; one day a week

Graduate of an accredited program required
3+ Years experience required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required
Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Prefer:
BSN
Additional Nursing certifications
House Supervisor and/or Charge Nurse experience
