Role Description

The Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Engineer will analyze project requirements and design solutions to ensure that databases are functionally appropriate, technically valid, and well-integrated in accordance with the business user requirements, methods, and standards throughout the project lifecycle. The engineer will also work with others to develop/update appropriate database Standards.

The Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Engineer will work to drive infrastructure development and may also serve as a Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME). They will also work with external service providers and the development, QA and application support teams during the software development cycles. They will be involved in requirements coordination, review and tracking of change requests, defect assessment, and system configuration. The engineer will also support the implementation of break-fix, maintenance and change requests.

Responsibilities include:

Research, evaluate, develop, and implement OEM designs and standards following industry best practices

Ensure that current and planned technical solutions are compatible with the client's business needs and strategic objectives.

Work with the other IT organizations to design, develop, and implement Enterprise OEM services in support of development, test, and production environments

Minimum Requirements

5 to 10 years of experience and a B.S. degree. Bachelor of Science (BS) can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience.

8 + years of experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and troubleshooting issues in Development and Production environments

Oracle certification or equivalent with demonstrated relevant experience in current/recent Oracle database versions

8+ years of experience in system design, implementation, and Level 3 support activities

Good communication skills and experience explaining difficult information in layman's terms and maintaining a customer service attitude to all levels of users

Ability to work independently and creatively to problem solve complex technical issues

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Preferred:

Knowledge of or prior DBA experience with SQL Server and/or MySQL

Ability to provide leadership, guidance, and training to others

Ability to provide accurate estimates of timeframes and cost estimates necessary to complete potential projects and develop milestones and project implementation plans
