Job Description SummaryPerforms technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks Principal Cyber Systems Engineers or Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in San Antonio, TX.

Overview / Responsibilities:The candidates filing this role requires broad knowledge across multiple systems engineering domains along with experience collaborating with team members across geographic boundaries. Engineering domains include requirements engineering, systems modeling, design integration, simulation, interface definition, and others. Periodic travel to other Northrop Grumman engineering locations is anticipated.

The candidate may: perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Perform analysis at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

This position may be filled at a Principal or Senior Principal level based on the requirements below.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Principal Level: Bachelor's degree in related field with 5 years of experience. Or Master's degree in related field with 3 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience is required in lieu of a degree.
  • Senior Principal Level: Bachelor's degree in related field with 9 years of experience. Or Master's degree in related field with 7 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience is required in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizenship with active Secret and ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a technical field.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance or higher
  • Experience developing Cameo SysML models
  • Experience managing system requirements, decomposing and allocating requirements

Salary Range: $104,700 USD - $157,100 USD

Salary Range 2: $129,800 USD - $194,800 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
