Animal Assistant / Assistant Veterinary Technician

Busy 1 Dr. private practice on the far south side is looking for the right person to join our super busy team. Vet tech license not required but actual animal handling experience is definitely preferred. This is an entry level part time position - Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday 7:30-4:30 and every other Friday 7:30-2 with rotating (every 5th weekend for a maximum 1 hour on Saturday or Sunday) kennel duty. Job description includes lots of cleaning, bending, lifting, and being on your feet all day assisting techs with restraining animals (dogs, cats, birds and the occasional livestock / farm animals - horses, goats, pigs, chickens…) for exams and surgery, walking dogs, bathing animals, cleaning kennels, laundry, keeping outside common areas - walkways and parking lot clean and free of debris, taking out trash, sweeping and mopping constantly, these are just some of the things done on a daily basis - but the list goes on! Punctuality, reliability and trustworthiness are a must.
