Title: Director of Operations Location: San Antonio, TX Duration: Direct Hire

Overview: Our client is looking for a Director of operations to run the day-to-day mechanics of their Direct Investor Business. The operations unit for this vertical will oversee a diverse and growing range of middle and back office functions including, risk and fraud, operational oversight, central quality, and vendor execution. Creation and maintenance of procedural documents, KPIs, training, and process improvement will be pivotal factors for this role, and the position requires execution and delivery of goals in collaborative and transformational environment. Responsibilities :
  • Implement best practices and innovate new processes to optimize department performance
  • Interface with and manage the execution of third-party vendors responsible for daily functions
  • Ensure outsourced services comply with the Master Services Agreement (MSA) and any other relevant amendments or appendices which guides the 3rd party's relationship
  • Support fraud examination to control/mitigate fraudulent financial transactions
  • Track and validate existing fraud risk strategies and design new proprietary fraud detection strategies.
  • Develop a control framework to understand data at all levels
  • Analyze needs and determine technology and resources required to meet needs
  • Lead the operations organization in a manner consistent with the execution of goals, corporate values, and the best interest of clients, employees and shareholders
  • Provide coaching and development for employees
  • Drive execution of results by Operations
Preferred experience:
  • 10 years of financial industry experience (or comparable)
  • Previous responsibility for service level goals
  • Ability to create and maintain strong relationships
  • A history of managing teams and/or organizations
  • Ability to self-start, work independently, foster collaboration and unify people around change
  • Deep knowledge of the financial products and services, and demonstrated passion and interest in financial markets
  • Focus on client satisfaction
  • Previous investment or brokerage sales experience
  • Series 7 and 63, 65 or Series 66 is a plus, not required
